In homage to the bond between Rock and roll and motorcycle culture, this piece is intended to showcase the beauty in experimentation with production counter to the norm. By taking a form and bringing it to a material it is normally not seen in, the piece demanded a carefully thought out process of manufacturing. As part sculpture, and part speaker this piece is intended to be displayed on your credenza or similar designated space.
The Design took inspiration from the clean, tailored, yet rebellious design cues of classic cafe racers. Borrowing the blend of organic, streamlined forms with a heavily machined look, Bratt sits steady in motion.
The Bratt takes modern functionality and blends it with the old, woody tones of blues heavy rock. It brings the warmth and imperfection back into the music we listen to, aspiring for no more than humanity.
A block of plywood is stack laminated. The plywood is then faced off on all side with the machine to fit into a registration board to locate the pieces for a flipped cut from both sides, the internal and then the external. Part is then cut out and hand finished.
